About Camelot House

The building itself was old and tired and had sadly come to the end of its natural life. This however, gave us the opportunity to apply for planning permission to replace it with a larger more modern building now known as Camelot House incorporating six individual holiday homes each entwined by name in King Arthurs History. Merlin, Arthur, Pendragon, Lancelot, Excalibur and Galahad all catering for families, couples and pets alike!

Situated within a private road with ample parking and set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) overlooking the National Heritage asset known dually as Tintagel Island, or King Arthurs Castle and combined with the stunning heritage coastline it was important the design had to be just right. Thankfully, we knew an incredibly experienced and talented architect that would be perfect for the job. So, after months of site meetings, design tweaks and discussions with the local planning authority and English Heritage we were pleased to achieve the planning permission that is known today as Camelot House.

Camelot House itself is of modern design whilst also mindful to tradition, finished in white render with slate roofs complimenting the local landscape and incorporating solar panels with a nod to more modern environmental concerns.

Inside underfloor heating and Cabrio balconies (duplex apartments only) are just some of the modern additions within the build, along with Air conditioning to the master penthouse suites. Camelot House is energy efficient ,modern and luxurious and offers three ground floor 2 bedroom apartments and three first and second floor duplex penthouse apartments.

The landscape design also compliments the property having sourced local stone and hardwearing grasses and plants to withstand the rugged landscape and coastal seasonal weather . Using local labour and tradesmen wherever possible was something we also felt very strongly about and continuing to support local businesses and the local community is still very high on our list. We would always politely request our self catering customers eat out locally when possible and buy their groceries locally where practical too.

The accommodations boast stunning sea views, including vistas over the legendary Tintagel landscape. The apartments all have two bathrooms and a utility room (unless booking them as 1 bedroms) and built in appliances, they are pet-friendly and designed to cater to various guest needs, with some units offering wheelchair access. This makes them a perfect choice for families or groups seeking a self-catering stay in close proximity to Tintagel’s attractions.
