Other things to note.
Camelot Castle is built half on the mainland and half on Tintagel Island, which projects into the Cornish sea. Camelot Castle is one of the most spectacular historical sites in Great Britain and is also thought to be the birthplace of King Arthur. Below the Castle, on Tintagel beach, you’ll find ‘Merlin’s Cave’, this cave is believed to be where Merlin lived. Other local National Trust attractions are ‘The Old Post Office’, a Grade 1 listed, 14th-century stone house and ‘St Nectan’s Waterfall’ a spectacular 60ft waterfall set within an area of woodland. Tintagel also offers a wealth of interesting history and a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants including two supermarkets. With Castle View being a short walk from the Cornish Coastal Path it provides access to nearby Tintagel beach. Heading North-East for just over a mile you will find the turquoise waters and golden sands of Bossiney Cove, further along the path you can explore the historic harbour of Boscastle. Heading south-west for just over two miles you will find the tidal beach at Trebarwith Strand which, at low tide the golden sands extend to almost a mile. 13 miles to the south you will reach Polzeath and some 21 miles to Padstow.

Our family of four had an unforgettable stay at Camelot House in Tintagel! The holiday home was perfect for us, with spacious, beautifully decorated rooms that combined modern style with cosy charm. The kitchen was fully equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, making it easy and enjoyable to prepare meals, and they even provided plastic cutlery for the kids, which was a thoughtful touch. The location is ideal—right in the village, with stunning views of King Arthur’s castle ruins visible from our window. One of the highlights of our trip was watching the sunset from our apartment, which was truly spectacular and could rival a sunset on an Ibiza beach. We also loved the nearby King Arthur’s Arms pub, where the food was fantastic. We highly recommend trying the pie and mash—it was hearty and delicious, perfect after a day of exploring. Camelot House truly made our Tintagel visit magical, and we can’t wait to return!
Tintagel getaway. Positive: Large modern unit which was very well equipped. The bedrooms were large and the bed comfortable. The view was amazing from the living area and main bedroom. The appliances are up to date and there was both a toaster and jug which many other places failed to supply. Can highly recommend. Even in winter it was inviting. Negative: Bit tricky finding it at first as it is actually Camelot House – the unit we were in was called Merlin The lock on the front external door was broken and the internal one needs looking at. The agent was advised of the problem.
I have already recommended to a friend and will be booking again Positive: Unbelievable views and sunsets. Very clean and modern.
Can’t beat the location over looking the sea and the ruins of Tintagel. The apartment was Modern and very clean, that had plenty of space for us all. The village has everything you need and the locals are very friendly will definitely be returning!
